Bryant Park
Situated on the eastern side of the Kodai Lake, Bryant Park is of special interest to those visitors who are keen gardeners. Being a botanical park, there is a lot to observe and learn here about flowers, growing hybrids and grafting. The flowering species here yield beautiful cut flowers which are exported to various continents.The park has a glass house which shelters exotic varieties of flowers. KODAI LAKE
Kodai Lake is an artificial star shaped lake which covers an area of almost 60 acres. Built in 1863, it is situated at an altitude of 2285 m. Located close to the centre of town, it is the favourite hang-out of locals and tourists alike who like to take long, leisurely strolls around its well-maintained 5 km peripheral path. Row boats, pedal boats and riding horses can also be hired here.
This serene and picturesque lake owes much to one Mr.Vera Levinge. He transformed the marshy lakeside into a spectacular lake by strengthening its banks and bringing beautiful boats from Tuticorin.
The lake is close-by to most hotels, shops and eating places. Adjacent to the lake is Bryant Park, a botanic garden.

Trek to Dolphin Nose
Dolphin’s nose is one of the most important locations for forest explorations around KodaiKanal. Local tourist agencies offer Dolphins nose as a part of the one day forest trekking package. Your way to Dolphin’s Nose: It’s about 8 Kms from the city. Need to walk about 3 kms downhill to reach Dolphin’s nose. Make sure you wear comfortable shoes as you walk in the forest area. You will get lot of small shops on the way selling eatables, tea/coffee and soft drinks. On the way you will find lots of exciting views of the forest and valley.
It’s a breath taking experience to stand on the edge of the rock. You will find it both thrilling and scary to go close to so called Dolphins nose. Clouds pass through your body and fresh air through your lungs. Mountains around you are most of the time covered with clouds.

Coaker's Walk
It is a narrow pedestrian path, constructed by Lt. Coaker in 1872, a one kilometer mountain road which runs along the edge of steep slopes on the southern side of Kodai road which is 1/2km away from Kodai. The walk winding around mt. Nebo starts near van Allen hospital and joins the main road above St. Peter's Church provides a wide-angle spectacular view of the plains. On a cloudless, clear day one can have interesting sights, such as.... Dolphin's nose in south, valley of the pambar river in South East, birds eye view of Periyakulam and even city of Madurai.
One must be aware of a fascinating phenomenon called 'Brachem Spectre' . A very lucky person can see his shadow on the clouds with a rainbow halo, when sun is behind and cloud and mist is in his front.

Green Valley View or Suicide Point
Earlier named as Suicide Point, today it is popular as Green Valley View. The scenic views and panoramic locations with clouds coming down are an awe inspiring experience. The drop from the point is a straight 5000 ft and is mist covered in the evenings. It is frequented by monkeys providing entertainment for the children.
Pillar Rocks
Situated at a distance of about 8 km from the Kodai Lake, Pillar Rocks are three large boulders which vertically measure upto a height of about 122 m. It is 8 km from the lake.The rocks offer breathtaking views of the surrounding forests and plains. There is a small garden with lovely, colourful flowers. At the bottom of the pillars are shady woods that make for a wonderful picnic spot. The scooped out chamber between the two pillar rocks is called Devil's kitchen.
Mannavanur Lake
Mannavanur is a beautiful landscape, situated at a distance about 35km from kodaikanal, is surrounded by grasslands. The Mannavanur Lake is the heart of the place, which could be sighted as soon we enter the huge landscape route. It’s a wonderful view of grass mounds across the valley and water as its center of attraction and surrounded by hills, and little blue sky gives way to picturesque shots. Mannavanur is also a village, mainly depends on terrace farming and agriculture alike Poombarai and holds a sheep research center. And mannavanur is also called as Bison valley.
